The current scrap steel market
It moves. A quote given in March may not match one given in September, which is why we won't publish a fixed price list — a fixed list would either be a lowball or a bait number.

Recoverable components
Catalytic converter, alloy wheels, radiator and copper content, glass, body panels, and any drivetrain with genuine resale life.

Completeness and condition
A whole vehicle is worth more than a stripped shell. This is why we ask what's missing — so the number we give on the phone is the number you get at pickup.
Quote Commitment
Our commitment on quotes: the offer we give you over the phone is the offer we honour on site, unless the vehicle turns out materially different from how it was described — a missing engine, a stripped interior, or a vehicle that isn't the one we discussed. We'd rather ask a few more questions upfront than have an awkward conversation in your driveway.

Why This Matters
Accountability in this business is not abstract. It affects how sellers are identified, how records are kept, how payments are made, and whether the vehicle is handled through legitimate downstream facilities.
What Happens to Your Vehicle
Your car doesn't go to a field behind someone's acreage.
Every vehicle we buy is processed in a set sequence at certified Alberta facilities:

Depollution
Fuel, engine oil, transmission and gear oil, coolant, brake fluid and air-conditioning refrigerant are drained and captured. Battery and mercury switches removed. This is the step unlicensed operators skip, and it's the one that legally matters.

Parts recovery
Components with genuine reuse life are recovered rather than shredded.

Metals separation
Catalytic converter and non-ferrous metals removed and handled separately.

Shredding
The remaining shell is shredded and the steel re-enters the supply chain.
A single end-of-life vehicle holds several litres of oil, coolant and fuel. In a city built around the North Saskatchewan River valley, keeping that out of the ground is the substantive reason to use a licensed buyer rather than whoever quotes highest.

What We Won't Do
Worth saying plainly:
We won't quote high to win the booking and cut it on arrival. If our number changes, it's because the vehicle wasn't as described, and we'll explain exactly why.
We won't charge you for towing. Within our service area, pickup is included in the offer.
We won't buy a vehicle you don't own. If it isn't registered to you, no legitimate buyer can purchase it — however long it's been on your property.
We won't tell you to scrap a car that shouldn't be scrapped. If your vehicle runs, drives and would pass an inspection, you'll do better selling it privately, and we'll say so.
